For employers
Seafarer medicals, coordinated properly.
For employers, maritime operators, crewing companies, recruitment agencies and authorised company coordinators arranging AMSA STCW medicals for one or many seafarers.
Cost
One fee, whatever the volume.
Employer and company bookings are charged the standard fee, which includes the direct senior access and the liaison that come with arranging medicals for your seafarers.
Every fee on this site is the total payable, including GST. There is nothing to add. The GST component is shown beneath each price for anyone who needs it for an expense claim or a business activity statement.
Per seafarer
AMSA STCW medical, employer or company booking
$434Includes $39.45 GST. $394.55 excl. GSTAny seafarer entering the maritime industry for the first time also needs a chest X-ray. It is performed off site by a partner provider, so it is charged separately and never added into the medical fee. We issue the referral and help book it, and it must happen at least 3 business days before the appointment.
Further investigations are charged only where the assessment cannot be completed without them.

The three numbers that decide your dates.
Every one of these is published rather than quoted on request, so you can plan a crew schedule without waiting on a reply.
- Appointment within
- 5 business days
- Of the date you ask for, for an individual seafarer or a batch.
- Chest X-ray lead time
- 3 business days
- Before the medical, for any seafarer entering the industry for the first time. The assessment cannot proceed without the result.
- Allow at the clinic
- 90 minutes
- Per seafarer, arriving 15 minutes early. Worth knowing before you release someone for half a day.
Important
First time seafarers change your critical path
A renewal needs the appointment alone. A first AMSA medical needs the chest X-ray resolved first, which puts at least 3 business days in front of the appointment. Identify the first timers in your batch before you set a mobilisation date, not after.
Medicals are performed at Osborne Park, Murdoch and Wembley, and Osborne Park opens on Saturdays, which is often the difference between a seafarer attending and a shift being lost. Compare the three clinics.
Turnaround
What the company fee actually buys.
It buys turnaround. A company booking generates a volume of requests and queries that an individual booking does not, and those requests go straight to Dr Lincoln Luk, our Senior Medical Examiner, rather than into a queue. That work is included in the fee rather than charged around it.
A direct line to Dr Lincoln Luk
Email and mobile access to our Senior Medical Examiner, to answer and expedite requests and queries. Not a shared inbox, and not a callback promise.
Requests expedited, not queued
Mobilisation dates do not wait for an administrative queue. Where something needs to move faster, there is someone with the authority to move it.
One point of contact
A named contact who coordinates every applicant in your booking, rather than each seafarer negotiating separately with reception.
Company based support and processing
Administrative handling of the booking on your behalf, from arrangement through to completion.
Status visibility
Administrative status on each applicant, so you know who is booked, who has outstanding documentation and who has attended.
What a company cannot do.
Each seafarer personally completes their own medical questionnaire and signs their own consent and release form. A company representative cannot complete clinical declarations or execute consent on a seafarer’s behalf, and Marlu Health will not accept it if offered.
This is not administrative fussiness. The questionnaire is a clinical declaration and the consent governs the release of a person’s health information. Both have to come from the seafarer.
The report is released to the seafarer, and that is the same whether the company arranged the medical or the seafarer booked it themselves. It is then at their discretion how and to whom they pass it on, so plan on the seafarer being the person who gives you their result.
Important
Anyone who is not an employer should use the individual pathway
There is deliberately no general option to book on behalf of another person. A family member, a friend or an agent who is not an authorised company coordinator should not be completing a seafarer’s clinical declarations.
Payment
Provider accounts and invoicing.
Approved provider accounts
Invoicing is available only to employers with an approved provider account. Terms are strictly 14 days with no exceptions. Approval is required before any booking can be charged to an account.
Registering creates a pending account. It must be approved by Marlu Health before any booking can be charged to it, and a credit notice and financial consent must be signed.

Strictly. No exceptions are offered. Stating it plainly now is fairer than discovering it at the end of a project.
Tell us about your seafarers.
One coordinator enters every applicant in a single request: how many seafarers, which clinic suits them, and when they need to mobilise. A member of the clinic team then rings to agree real appointments. Nothing on this site holds one.
The request asks for administrative details only. No health question is asked of you or of your seafarers, beyond whether each is entering the maritime industry for the first time, which is what decides whether the chest X-ray applies.
